The Spain Convention Bureau (SCB) is a section of the FEMP that currently groups 49 convention cities together.
It was formed in 1984 within the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) as a specialised tourism section, under the name of Spanish Section of Convention Cities. The name of “Spain Convention Bureau” is the commercial brand used in promotional initiatives with respect to the conventions and meetings market.
Its principal objectives are, on one hand, to promote the exchange of experiences and information in this tourism sector between the municipalities that comprise the Section, and, on another hand, to conduct initiatives aimed at the common promotion of the cities comprising it, both nationally and internationally.
The President of the SCB is the Mayor of Malaga, Mr. Francisco de la Torre.
At present, 49 cities are affiliated, representing 15,317,344 inhabitants.
